Our Story
In February 2019, Board Chairman Sargbah Tarley founded the North America Funeral Payment Assistance Program Incorporated (NAFPAP Inc.) in Durham, North Carolina with a singular purpose: no family should be forced to choose between grief and financial survival.
The idea was born from a deeply personal understanding of the financial devastation that unexpected death can bring to a family. In North America, the average funeral costs thousands of dollars — an amount many families simply cannot access in their most vulnerable moments.
Today, NAFPAP Inc. has grown into a North America-wide movement. We have helped over 1,700 families navigate the financial and emotional challenges of loss — providing direct assistance, negotiating with funeral homes, and connecting families with grief counseling resources. And we are just getting started.
